Buddy's car dropped

ARIZONA // A 1958 Chevrolet Impala that had been scheduled to be auctioned by the Barret-Jackson Auction Company this weekend has been removed from the sale. The Impala was believed to have been owned by Buddy Holly, who was killed in a plane crash in 1959. However, doubts emerged as to the authenticity of the car. "While we were disappointed to have to pull such a high profile car from the auction, we made this decision in order to ensure our customers are provided with a trustworthy forum for buying or selling a collector car," says Steve Davis, president of Barret-Jackson.
