DUBAI // A bogus police officer threatened to have a woman jailed for working illegally unless she performed a sex act, a court heard yesterday.
The Criminal Court was told that A A, 29, an Emirati, approached the woman on June 18 this year and showed her a police identity card before asking for her identity documents.
When she explained that her papers were still being processed he asked her to take him to the beauty salon where she was working to prove she was telling the truth.
“My flatmate wanted to come with us but he refused,” said the woman. She said the man insisted she accompany him in his car, despite the salon being within walking distance.
After she got in, he drove past her workplace, refusing to stop and kept driving until they reached the France district at International City.
“I asked him to take me back to the apartment but he then threatened me saying that because I was working while on a visit visa he could get me sent to jail,” recalled the woman.
“He said: ‘Help me and I will help you’, then he stopped the car and started touching me.”
She cried and begged him not to hurt her because she was married and had two children in the Philippines. He then forced her to pleasure him and when she finished he drove her back to her apartment.
She told her friend what happened and the friend told her to report the incident to police.
A A denied a charge of sexual assault and posing as a police officer and the next hearing was scheduled for October 28.

Trump swept all five remaining swing states, North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, sealing his path to victory and giving him a strong mandate.
Popular Vote Tally
The count is ongoing, but Trump currently leads with nearly 51 per cent of the popular vote to Harris’s 47.6 per cent. Trump has over 72.2 million votes, while Harris trails with approximately 67.4 million.
