Body of newborn baby found in Sharjah sewage pipe



SHARJAH // The body of a newborn baby has been found in a sewage pipe.

Police have launched an investigation after the child was found in the pipe in a Sharjah free zone.

Officers were tipped off about the body and dispatched police and emergency crews to the location, reported Aletihad, The National's Arabic-language sister newspaper.

The child’s body was taken to Sharjah Police forensic lab to identify the age of the newborn and the cause of death.

In another incident in Sharjah, police were tipped off about a decomposed body found on the rooftop of a building under construction in Al Mosala.

Police officers and forensics teams lifted fingerprints and evidence from the scene before taking the body to the forensic lab to determine the cause of death.
