DUBAI // A blacksmith admitted biting a woman’s lip and hugging her from behind against her will at a shopping mall.
Dubai Criminal Court heard that the incident happened on April 1 at Al Khail Mall in Al Quoz.
The woman said she was on her way to work – she is a nurse at a medical centre in the mall – when it happened.
“Near the lift, I was taken by surprise. The man jumped at me from behind, hugged me then turned me around and bit my lip,” said the 29-year-old Indian nurse, who reported him to police immediately.
The Indian defendant, 39, confessed to a sexual assault charge in court on Monday morning and begged for mercy.
A verdict is expected on May 25.
