Weather forecasters have warned motorists to beware of dangerous driving conditions this weekend.
Rain, wind and unsettled weather is expected, with clouds from the centre and south of Saudi Arabia over the eastern region.
The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology advised drivers to beware of slippery road surfaces and reduced horizontal visibility caused by blowing dust, especially in the southeast and eastern region. Sailors and fishermen were advised not to take to the sea today.
Temperatures will reach a high of 32°C to 36°C in the interior and 29°C to 34°C on the coast, with a low of 18°C to 23°C in the interior and 23°C to 26°C on the coast in the next 24 hours. Winds may reach up to 50kph. Humidity will range from 25 to 90 per cent on the coast.
Unstable weather is characteristic of the transitional season between summer and winter, the weather centre said.
