CAIRO // The Arab Parliament has awarded its Order of First Class to Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak in recognition of her work to empower Emirati and Arab women.
Sheikha Fatima, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation and Head of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, was recognised for her significant role in advancing causes concerning women, her contributions to integrating women as key partners in their communities and for supporting local, Arab and international humanitarian initiatives.
Ahmed Mohammed Al Jarwan, president of the Arab Parliament, said Sheikha Fatima “remains a role model for women in the Arab world and beyond”, reported state news agency Wam.
