DUBAI // The Al Maktoum Foundation has implemented a Dh1.3 million iftar project in several countries in Africa.
The schools and offices of the foundation were involved in the Ramadan gesture, which stems from an order from Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and patron of the foundation.
The programme includes distribution of basic foodstuffs and hosting of group iftars for the poor, orphans and other underprivileged segments.
The project was implemented in Somalia, Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya, Chad, South Sudan and Darfur, in Sudan.
