Ajman Police arrested a group of men for breaking into mosques and stealing money from charity boxes.
A cleaner at one of the mosques in Ajman reported the incident to police saying a man broke into the mosque and stole charity money from a box belonging to General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments.
“We received a report of a man stealing cash from a charity box in a mosque and a police patrol was dispatched to investigate the matter,” said Captain Ahmed Saeed Al Nuaimi, deputy director of the Criminal Investigations Department.
“A team of investigators identified the suspect involved in the crime and the vehicle used by him,” said Captain Al Nuaimi.
Police arrested the suspect who admitted to his crime during questioning and revealed the identities of three other men involved in similar burglaries.
“All four suspects — Arab nationals 0 were arrested and admitted stealing charity money from another mosque in the emirate,” said Captain Al Nuaimi
The four suspects have been referred to Ajman Prosecution to face charges.
