AD Police foil distribution of hashish in Al Ain

Al Ain’s anti-narcotics section had received a tip that a person was planning to sell drugs.

Abu Dhabi Police’s Sunset Operation foiled an attempt to distribute 15 kilograms of hashish in Al Ain city.

Col Rashid Bourshid, head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Abu Dhabi Police, said Al Ain’s anti-narcotics section received a tip that a person was planning to sell drugs.

Investigations showed the suspect was involved in criminal activity, said Col Bourshid, adding that an anti-narcotics officer posed as buyer, offering to purchase the drugs for Dh70,000.

Col Sultan Al Darmaki, head of the Anti-Narcotics Section at the CID, said that despite the careful movements and manoeuvres of the suspect, S A, 34, the anti-drug taskforce arrested him in the act and seized the hashish, which was shaped into 15 rectangular blocks and wrapped in plastic bags.
