Abu Dhabi Media restructures board of directors

ABU DHABI // Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has issued the decision to restructure the board of directors of Abu Dhabi Media.

The board of directors will be headed by Mohammed Ibrahim Al Mahmood, the vice president of the board of directors of the General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare and secretary general of Abu Dhabi Sports Council.

Members include Sheikh Fahim Sultan Khalid Al Qasimi, Noura Al Kaabi, Dr Ali bin Tamim, Dr Omniyat Al Hajeri, Hareb M Al Muhairi, Dr Jamal Mohammed Al Hosni and Arif Hamad Saif Al Awani.

Board members are to hold the positions for three years with an option to renew.

The company operates across the broadcast, publishing, and digital media sectors. As well as The National Abu Dhabi Media publishes Al Ittihad, television and radio stations Abu Dhabi Al Emarat TV, Abu Dhabi Sports TV, Quran Kareem, Emarat FM, Abu Dhabi FM, Star FM, and the children’s magazine Majid.

ADM also owns and operates a number of subsidiaries, including local film company Image Nation Abu Dhabi, LIVE, the outdoor broadcast and production company, and printing facility United Printing Press.

In addition, the company partners with Universal Music Group and Sony Music Entertainment on VEVO, the premium online music video platform, and with National Geographic on National Geographic Abu Dhabi, the Arabic-language television channel, and National Geographic Al Arabiya magazine.
