An Indian man who fled police custody by hiding in a fridge had his appeal against his two-month prison term rejected on Wednesday.

An Indian man who fled police custody by hiding in a fridge had his appeal against his two-month prison term rejected yesterday.

He was being held on theft charges at a police station in Abu Dhabi but hid in a fridge in the food hall while guards were distributing meals to inmates.

He was arrested at Dubai's airport.
