Abu Dhabi forum aims to raise international teaching standards

More than 600 teachers from across the UAE will take part

An innovative education forum aimed at raising international teaching standards is set to be held in Abu Dhabi in October.

Qudwa will run from October 5-6 at the Manarat Al Saadiyat exhibition centre in the capital.

The event was announced by the education affairs office of the Crown Prince Court of Abu Dhabi on Sunday.

Organisers hope the convention will help position the UAE as a global leader in the education sector.

“Qudwa is an important platform to share best practices that can improve and reinforce teaching skills across the UAE,” said Mohamed Al Neaimi, director of the Education Affairs Office at the Crown Prince Court of Abu Dhabi.

“It invites teachers to discuss their challenges and debate issues in the education system.”

Qudwa was first established in 2016 under the patronage of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

It is supported by the Ministry of Education, the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority of Dubai, and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

This year’s event will focus on its theme of ‘Teaching For Global Competence’, allowing teachers to engage with education leaders and share ideas. Previous forums have included teachers and specialists from more than 80 countries.
