Abu Dhabi Customs find hashish in passenger’s tea bags

Customs inspectors at the border crossing between the UAE and Saudi Arabia at Al Guwaifat have foiled an attempt to smuggle over a million Saudi riyals in cash into the Emirates.

The cash, SR1.48 million, was found hidden in the overhead cabinet of car driven by a 29-year-old Arab.

In a separate incident, Abu Dhabi airport customs inspectors foiled an attempt by a 24-year-old Asian travelling from an Arab country to smuggle 3.121 grammes of marijuana.

The substance was found hidden in the suspect’s pocket and in tea bags in his luggage.
