21 UAE inmates convert to Islam in 2014

DUBAI // Twenty-one inmates of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments converted to Islam this year under the guidance of staff preachers from the Islamic Information Centre of Dar Al Ber Society.

The Islamic Information Centre of Dar Al Ber Society also contributed financial aid to help the inmates pay their outstanding debts and diyas or blood money.

“We always support the good-behaving inmates recommended by Department,” said Rashid Al Junaibi, the centre’s manager.

A special ceremony honouring the new converts was recently held in the presence of officials from the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments – Dubai.
