Residents in <a href="https://www.thenationalnews.com/tags/abu-dhabi/" target="_blank">Abu Dhabi</a> will enjoy free parking and no road tolls during the <a href="https://www.thenationalnews.com/tags/eid-al-fitr/" target="_blank">Eid Al Fitr</a> holiday. The emirate's Integrated Transport Centre on Friday said <a href="https://www.thenationalnews.com/uae/2022/04/15/motorists-in-abu-dhabi-can-now-pay-mawaqif-parking-fees-through-an-app/" target="_blank">Mawaqif fees</a> will be waived from Friday until 7.59am on May 7. Drivers can also pass freely under the four <a href="https://www.thenationalnews.com/uae/2022/04/06/abu-dhabi-toll-gate-hours-changed-for-ramadan-2022/#:~:text=Abu%20Dhabi%20has%20amended%20its,again%20from%205pm%20to%207pm." target="_blank">Darb toll gates</a> entering Abu Dhabi island for the same period. The normal toll system, which charges motorists from 7am to 9am and from 5pm to 7pm, will resume on May 7. Public bus services in the emirate will run as normal but some regional bus services will be increased, depending on demand. The numbers of intercity services could also be increased if needed. People are urged to follow rules and not park in designated residential spaces between 9pm and 8am. The centre also advised people to check the ITC website at www.itc.gov.ae; on the toll-free number 800850; or through the Darbi smartphone app to learn more about the services over Eid.
