The UAE reported 244 <a href="https://www.thenationalnews.com/uae/expo-2020/2022/04/01/how-dubai-pulled-off-a-mega-expo-2020-amid-the-covid-19-pandemic/" target="_blank">Covid-19 </a>cases on Tuesday, its lowest daily tally since December 17. Daily case numbers have remained below 400 since March 7, which was also the date of the last recorded death in the Emirates. Another 441 people recovered from the virus in the 24-hour reporting period. Authorities have confirmed 892,714 cases, 871,055 recoveries and 2,302 deaths to date. The latest cases were detected as a result of an additional 192,574 PCR tests. Nearly 149.4 million tests have been conducted to date. Mass screening of the public, along with a comprehensive vaccination campaign, has been key to the UAE's recovery strategy. More than 24.5 million vaccine doses have been administered to the public, with about 97 per cent of the population fully vaccinated. Daily figures have dropped significantly in recent months, having topped 3,000 in January.
