More than 10 kilograms of expired cosmetic products have been seized during safety inspections at dozens of beauty salons in Fujairah. Dibba Municipality issued fines to 15 salons for flouting public health rules. Inspection teams have made more than 180 visits to salons in the area this year to help improve standards and ensure businesses comply with the law. Breaches included <a href="https://www.thenationalnews.com/uae/more-than-55kg-of-expired-food-and-cosmetics-seized-after-swoop-in-fujairah-1.770823" target="_blank">the use of out-of-date products</a>, and a failure to sanitise equipment and renew staff health cards. Salon owners were required to sign an agreement pledging not to repeat their offences. “As part of the efforts to enhance public health safety procedures, owners had to sign, vowing they will not repeat violations and that they will adhere to safety rules,” said Hassan Al Yamahi, director of Dibba Fujairah Municipality. “Inspections aim to ensure that best health practices are being followed in order to prevent all violations that may cause harm to customers.” All businesses will be undergo regular inspections, he said. He urged beauty salons in the emirate to adhere to public health and safety standards. The municipality also reminded business owners to follow rules to curb the spread of Covid-19.
