Fire near JLT sends smoke across parts of Dubai

Flames could be seen from the popular JLT residential area.

The fire looked to be contained at the construction site.

Plumes of thick, black smoke filled the air.

Motorists witnessed the blaze on their morning commute.

A large fire broke out near the JLT residences in Dubai on Wednesday, sending smoke across the area.

One resident took a video of the fire, saying they were watching it from Cluster M of the JLT complex, and identified the location of the flames as being "on the corner of Garn Al Sabka Street next to JLT and Sheikh Zayed Road".

Dubai Civil Defence have been contacted for comment.
