UAE reports 1,321 Covid-19 cases as daily tally hits 11-week low



The UAE recorded 1,321 Covid-19 cases on Monday, its lowest daily tally in almost three months.

The new infections brought the country's overall tally to 694,285.

A further 1,400 people beat the virus, as the recovery total climbed to 671,353.

It is the first time recoveries have exceeded new cases since April 9.

The number of active cases across the Emirates dropped to 20,954.

The latest infections were detected as a result of 233,245 additional tests.

Three more people died after contracting Covid-19, raising the death toll to 1,978.

Infection rates have been on the decline in recent weeks and have remained below 1,600 since July 4.

Monday's figures are the lowest since May 18, when 1,270 cases were reported.

More than 68 million PCR tests have been conducted since the outbreak began.
