Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, has performed Eid Al Adha prayers at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. Sheikh Mohamed exchanged Eid greetings with worshippers, visited the tomb of the Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed, and recited a prayer in his honour, state news agency Wam reported. Sheikh Mohamed was joined by a congregation that included: Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed, Ruler's Representative in the Al Dhafra Region; Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, was also in attendance, along with other sheikhs, ministers and senior officials. In his sermon, Dr Omar Al Dharie, executive director of Islamic affairs at the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, highlighted the religious significance of Eid Al Adha. “It is a great day of sacrifice, giving, generosity, joy, mercy and communication with families and neighbours,” he said. He urged members of the community to adhere to Covid-19 precautionary measures. Dr Al Dharie also prayed for the President, Sheikh Khalifa, the UAE's continued security, stability and prosperity, and the country's Rulers. <br/>
