180 volunteers at Sheikh Zayed Mosque

ABU DHABI // The number of voluntary workers at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has reached 180 men and women.

Al Ittihad, the sister newspaper of The National, reported the volunteers' jobs include helping provide services to worshippers during taraweeh prayers, guiding worshippers to parking spots, and answering questions and offering guidance to visitors

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre has organised training courses and workshops to train the volunteers.

The volunteers have played a role in organising and running projects at the mosque, such as Our Fasting Guests project, through which Iftar meals are handed out in memory of the late President Sheikh Zayed.

The mosque promotes a culture of volunteerism among all members of society every year during Ramadan.
