SHARJAH // A newborn girl has been found abandoned in the village of Khor Khalba, police confirmed today. The child, believed to be only 12 hours old, was discovered on Friday lying in a bag outside a house. She was taken to Khalba Hospital, where she is described as healthy. The announcement of the discovery came 24 hours after police in Ajman began a search for the parents of an abandoned baby, a one-month-old girl found in a box near a mosque. Police in Sharjah this morning said they had launched an investigation and were searching for the child's parents. Anyone with information is asked to contact police. ykakande@thenational.ae
