Wizz Air Abu Dhabi is launching non-stop flights from the capital of the UAE to Moldova. The low-cost airline is set to fly twice per week to Chisinau from September 4. Moldova is listed on Abu Dhabi's Green List, so travellers visiting this Balkan hideaway will not need to quarantine upon return. Travel to Moldova is open for tourists, and there's no quarantine necessary if you have a negative PCR test result taken within 72 hours, or can show proof of a Covid-19 vaccination. Test results should be in digital and paper format, and can be in English, Romanian, Russian, German, Italian or French. All travellers flying to Moldova must also fill in a passenger locator form to be submitted upon arrival. Flights from the UAE to the Moldovan capital via Wizz Air Abu Dhabi have a flying time of just more than five hours. One-way fares to Chisinau start from Dh179, including taxes, with return fares from Moldova to Abu Dhabi starting from Dh489. “We are happy to announce a new route from Abu Dhabi to Chisinau following the update of the green travel list which included Moldova," said Kees Van Schaick, managing director of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi. "As restrictions ease, the demand for travel is increasing and we are committed to providing additional travel opportunities to our customers by expanding our current network with new and exciting routes." One of Europe’s least-visited countries, Moldova offers an off-the-beaten-path destination filled with less-travelled roads, meandering rivers, waterfalls and endless greenery. It's also got a fascinating history, with the crumbling open-air Old Orhei which is more than 2,000 years old being a must-see. Chisinau is the capital city of Moldova, situated along the Bacu River. Travellers seeking a budget-friendly destination might want to consider holidaying in Moldova due to its affordability. Abu Dhabi's Green List contains all the destinations where travellers can return to the UAE from without quarantine. There are currently 29 places on the list, with Moldova added in the most recent update in May, alongside Spain, the US, Germany, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan. Travellers returning to Dubai do not face quarantine measures.
