She is an award-winning, multilingual German-Egyptian journalist with over 14 years of experience in broadcast, online media and technology across Europe and the Mena region. Before joining The National, Wafaa spent a decade at Germany’s international broadcaster DW, excelling in various editorial roles and spearheading innovative media projects. Her work has appeared in major outlets such as the BBC, France 24 and Business Insider. She also served as a regional editor at Unbias the News and co-authored Unbias the News: Why Diversity Matters for Journalism, championing diversity and inclusivity in global media.
