Two more UAE sides took to the continental stage on Tuesday night, and again neither managed to make a significant impact against Saudi Arabian clubs.

Al Wahda – whose Rim Chang-woo vies with Fareed Al Hafith on the Sport cover for the Wednesday, March 14, 2017 edition of The National – drew 2-2 Al Hilal and Arabian Gulf League leaders Al Jazira lost 3-1 to domestic bottom -feeders Al Fateh.

Both UAE clubs sit at the bottom of their respective Asian Champions League groups after three matches played.

John McAuley has the Al Jazira take, while Amith Passela reports on Al Wahda from Al Nahyan stadium.

Wahda manager Javier Aguirre remains optimistic despite only one point in three matches:

“We still have nine points to play for,” he said. “It is difficult but not impossible. We had an opportunity tonight but a few mistakes cost us full points. I think we can take some positives from this game after losing the first two.”
