This week's talented showcase of students include two students at the British School Al Khubairat on a school sports scholarship, a Cambridge High School pupil taking a hat-trick while playing for the MCC Zayed Cricket academy and Al Yasmina's Netabll "superstar". Moaaz Qazi The 16-year-old 11th grade pupil from the Cambridge High School took a hat-trick while playing for the MCC Zayed Cricket Academy in the ADCC President's Cup Division 2 cricket tournament. He took three for 28 from his five overs to bowl out Phoenix for 147 at the weekend. He was named the school's Under 19 Cricketer of the Year this week. Sean Tierney This 16 year old laughs when friends tell him he is lucky to have a schools sports scholarship. Most teenagers would love to play and coach rugby, football or golf as part of their curriculum. "Take it from me, it's an absolute nightmare," said the British School Al Khubairat (BSAK) pupil. "We have school work and so much sport, that I need my weekends just to catch up." Michael Gibb BSAK's other new sports scholarship pupil dreams of making a living out of his passion. The 16 year old said: "I live for sport, be it football, rugby or athletics. There is a lot of stress because of school work. I was glad of the Eid holiday because I could catch up on my studies. My dream is to make it in football but you have to be realistic, so I might aim to be a PE teacher." Lucy Thompson While she will not say it herself, this is Al Yasmina's "superstar" netball player. That is according to her teachers who believe Lucy, who plays goal-defence, is the reason the Abu Dhabi school has been so successful at netball in recent years. "We have a really good team who work hard, so this is going to be a good season for us," she said. UAE school sports Athlete of the Week: Do's ambition to play professional football has blossomed after winning a trip to Old Trafford.
