“Real Madrid and Manchester United have reached an agreement for the loan of the player Javier Hernandez, who will be tied to the club for the current season,” Real said in a statement on their website (www.realmadrid.com).
Real have an option to buy Hernandez, 26, and he would be presented to the media at the Bernabeu stadium later on Monday, the La Liga club added.
United on Monday signed Real Madrid target Radamel Falcao.
AC Milan
New AC Milan signing Marco van Ginkel is thrilled to have moved to the San Siro on a season long-loan from Chelsea.
Van Ginkel completed a medical on Monday morning with the Italian outfit.
“I am very happy to have arrived in Milan,” Van Ginkel said on www.acmilan.com. “A lot of Dutch players have played in this great club, big names.
“I’m just happy to be finally here.
“I spoke to [AC Milan’s Holland international] Nigel De Jong and he told me very good things about this club.”
Van Ginkel, 21, moved to Chelsea from Vitesse last summer but missed most of the 2013/14 campaign with a knee injury.
He is hoping to earn a regular spot in Filippo Inzaghi’s side, who will not compete in Europe this season.
“I am a midfielder that defends but is also is able to score goals,” Van Ginkel said. “I can play in many positions in midfield.
“I want to have more playing time and this is my aim this season.
“I believe at Milan I will have the opportunity to play more games, in what is a big competition, with many strong teams.
“I have not spoken to Mr Inzaghi yet but I’ve spoken to Fernando Torres this week.”
Spanish striker Torres joined Milan last week on a two-season loan from Chelsea.
Atletico Madrid
La Liga champions Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement with Torino for the signing of Italian international Alessio Cerci, the Spanish club announced on Sunday.
The 27-year-old becomes Atletico’s 10th signing of the summer as they look to bolster their squad following the departures of Diego Costa, Filipe Luis and Thibaut Courtois to Chelsea.
“The agreement reached with Torino for the transfer of Cerci is great news for everyone,” Atletico sporting director Jose Luis Perez Caminero told the club’s website.
“He was a clear objective to finalise strengthening our squad ahead of the important challenges we have this season.
“We have had to make a significant effort after all the moves we have made this summer, but we are convinced it is worth it because he is going to be a key part of our team.”
Cerci scored 13 goals and provided 12 assists as Torino finished seventh in Serie A last season to qualify for the Europa League.
He was also included in Cesare Prandelli’s World Cup squad, but made just one appearance off the bench in Brazil as Italy lost 1-0 to Costa Rica.
Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich have signed Germany Under 19 attacking player Sinan Kurt from Bundesliga rivals Borussia Moenchengladbach.
Bayern said on their website that the 18-year-old Kurt has agreed a four-year deal with the club. It adds the player “can play in various positions up front”.
Kurt’s transfer had been the subject of dispute between the sides, with Borussia unwilling to sell and the player wanting to move.
Kurt had a contract to 2016 with Borussia, though both the player and Bayern reportedly claimed it was only valid to 2015 due to a three-year limit on youth contracts.
Meanwhile, Bayern have sent United States international Julian Green to Hamburg on a one-year loan deal to get match practice.
The 19-year-old forward, who was part of the US World Cup squad in June and also scored one goal in the tournament, is among the most talented young footballers in Germany but has yet to play in the Bundesliga and made one appearance in the Champions League last season.
Olympiakos
Greece striker Kostas Mitroglou has rejoined champions Olympiakos Piraeus on loan from Fulham, the English second tier club said on Sunday.
Fulham, relegated from the Premier League last May, said on their website (www.fulhamfc.com) that the 26-year-old had joined Olympiakos on loan until the end of June.
Mitroglou signed for Fulham on the last day of the January transfer window for a reported fee of 12.4 million pounds ($20.6 million) after scoring three hat-tricks at the start of the Greek campaign and firing his country to the World Cup.
But injuries hampered his spell in London and he was rarely used by Fulham coach Felix Magath, starting only one match as the side slumped to relegation.
According to media reports, Fulham had sought a 2.5 million-pound loan fee.
Aston Villa
Midfielder Karim El Ahmadi has left Aston Villa to rejoin Feyenoord on a three-year contract, the Dutch club announced on Monday.
The Dutch-born Moroccan international played for Feyenoord between 2008 and 2012, during which he had a loan spell in the United Arab Emirates, before moving to England.
At Feyenoord, El Ahmadi reunites with coach Fred Rutten under whom he played in the early stages of his professional career at Twente Enschede.
Burnley
Burnley have announced the transfer deadline day signing of forward George Boyd from Barclays Premier League rivals Hull City.
Boyd, 28, has joined the Clarets for an undisclosed fee on a three-year contract.
The switch has been completed after Hull manager Steve Bruce revealed on Sunday that he had allowed the Scotland international to talk to Burnley.
Wishing the player well, Bruce said: “I’ve been in the game a long time and if all professional footballers were like George Boyd my job would be easy.’’
Boyd joined Hull on loan from Peterborough midway through the club’s Championship promotion campaign in 2012/13.
The move was made permanent at the end of that season and he then featured intermittently in the Premier League last term, as well as coming off the bench in the FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal.
Burnley also secured England Under 21 international midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah on a season-long loan from Chelsea. Chalobah, 19, captained Chelsea to FA Youth Cup victory in 2012 and has had loan spells at Championship clubs Watford, Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough.
Hull City
Hull City announced on Monday that they had signed Uruguay striker Abel Hernandez from Italian Serie A side Palermo for a “club-record fee”.
Hernandez, 24, signed a three-year contract with an option for a further year. He reportedly cost the English club around £9.5 million (Dh58m) after scoring 14 goals in Serie B last season.
“Abel is a fantastic signing and highlights just how far the club has come in such a short space of time,” Hull manager Steve Bruce told the club website. “He is an exciting talent and, like myself, I’m sure the supporters can’t wait to see him in action.”
Espanyol
Espanyol have signed Spanish midfielder Jose Canas on a free transfer after Swansea City cancelled his contractg by mutual consent, the English Premier League club said on Monday.
Canas, 27, returns to the Primera Liga after signing a three-year deal and ending his time with Swansea, who he joined on a free transfer after leaving Real Betis last year. He made 35 appearances for the Welsh club last season, last featuring in a league defeat at Everton in March.
He joined compatriots Pablo Hernandez, Chico Flores, Alejandro Pozuelo and Michu in leaving Swansea during the transfer window, but the club have thrived without the Spanish contingent, winning all three league games this season.
Watford
Italian Beppe Sannino resigned as manager of English championship (second tier) club Watford on Sunday with the team lying second in the table after five matches of the season.
The 57-year-old took the job in place of compatriot Gianfranco Zola eight months ago, leading Watford to the brink of the playoffs last season and winning four of their first five games in this year’s league campaign.
“Watford FC wishes to thank Beppe Sannino for all that he has achieved while with the club and we wish him well for his future in football,” the club said in a statement on their website.
The former Siena and Palermo coach said he felt it was the right time to leave Watford.
“I took over a very talented squad when I arrived - but they were boys in many ways,” Sannino said.
“I’m proud of what we have achieved and I have no doubt that the squad now, who look very much like men who know exactly what they must do, are very capable of getting promotion from this tough Championship league.
“I feel I have gone as far as I can so, for the benefit of me and the club, I feel the time is right for me to move on.”
