Wimbledon 2017: Murray, Federer and Djokovic in action on men's quarter-finals day

(1) Andy Murray v (24) Sam Querrey - Centre Court, 4pm (UAE)

World No 1 Andy Murray hopes to follow Johanna Konta's lead and become the second Briton to reach the semi-finals at Wimbledon, following the women's world No 7's stirring quarter-final win over Simona Halep on Tuesday. Murray, 30, is the defending champion and can expect plenty of bombs to be thrown his way by the big-serving 6ft 6in American, who has fired down 99 aces already at the All England Club, second most for this year's tournament.

Head-to-head: Murray leads 7-1

(6) Milos Raonic v (3) Roger Federer - second on Centre Court

Roger Federer has warned his quarter-final foe Milos Raonic he is a completely different player to the one that lost to the Canadian at Wimbledon 12 months ago. Federer plays Raonic on Wednesday for a place in the last four at the All England Club and in a re-run of last year's semi-final, when Raonic overpowered the Swiss in five sets. Raonic was beaten b Murray two days later while Federer reacted by taking six months off to recover from a niggling knee problem.

Head-to-head: Federer has nine wins to Raonic's three

(7) Marin Cilic v (16) Gilles Muller - first on Court One - 4pm

Muller returns to action 48 hours after emerging victorious from the defining match of the 2017 Wimbledon Championships, when the 16th seed from Luxembourg defeated Rafael Nadal 15-13 in the fifth set after a near five hour battle. Muller will hope to avoid the 'Rafa curse' that has seen each unfancied opponent to have beaten the Spaniard at Wimbledon lose in the next round. Standing in Muller's way of a semi-final place will be an imposing proposition in the form of Croatian seventh seed Cilic, who has made serene progress through the draw to reach the last eight. Cilic is yet to drop a set and his thrashing of Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut in the fourth round shows he means business at the All England Club. Muller and Cilic most recently met at Queen's Club before Wimbledon, with the latter winning over three tight sets.

Head-to-head: Cilic has won both encounters with Muller

(11) Tomas Berdych v (2) Novak Djokovic - second on Court One

Three-time champion Novak Djokovic overcame an injury scare to reach the Wimbledon quarter-finals for the ninth time on Tuesday and then lashed out at the Centre Court, claiming a hole has opened up on the famous surface. The second seed needed treatment on his long-standing right shoulder injury during his 6-2, 7-6, 6-4 win over France's Adrian Mannarino. But as well as worrying about the state of his shoulder, the 30-year-old Serb slammed the poor quality of the All England Club courts. Former finalist Tomas Berdych reached the last eight at Wimbledon after coming through a brutal five set tussle with Austrian Dominic Thiem on Monday. Berdych, who lost to Rafa Nadal in the 2010 final, came through a near three-hour encounter on Court Three against the world No 8.

Head-to-head: The Serb has the Cezch's card marked: 25 wins against two losses

Anxiety and work stress major factors

Anxiety, work stress and social isolation are all factors in the recogised rise in mental health problems.

A study UAE Ministry of Health researchers published in the summer also cited struggles with weight and illnesses as major contributors.

Its authors analysed a dozen separate UAE studies between 2007 and 2017. Prevalence was often higher in university students, women and in people on low incomes.

One showed 28 per cent of female students at a Dubai university reported symptoms linked to depression. Another in Al Ain found 22.2 per cent of students had depressive symptoms - five times the global average.

It said the country has made strides to address mental health problems but said: “Our review highlights the overall prevalence of depressive symptoms and depression, which may long have been overlooked."

Prof Samir Al Adawi, of the department of behavioural medicine at Sultan Qaboos University in Oman, who was not involved in the study but is a recognised expert in the Gulf, said how mental health is discussed varies significantly between cultures and nationalities.

“The problem we have in the Gulf is the cross-cultural differences and how people articulate emotional distress," said Prof Al Adawi.

“Someone will say that I have physical complaints rather than emotional complaints. This is the major problem with any discussion around depression."
