Andy Murray is seen in action on The National Sport front page on Thursday, May 26 during his 6-2, 2-6, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 win over Mathias Bourgue at the French Open on Wednesday. Murray reached the third round, but the Scotsman has struggled at Roland Garros this year after dropping two sets during his win over veteran Radek Stepanek in the opening round.

Murray was effusive in his praise for Frenchman Bourgue after the match.

“He was excellent today. He dictated the points and made me run. He’s going to have a fantastic future,” Murray said. “At the end of the third set, I just thought ‘what happened?’. I was 6-2, 2-0 ahead. He was then unbelievable and I found it hard just to win points.

“But I have played these matches many times. I just tried to fight through.”
