Snow Fairy will bid to become the second filly trained in Britain to win the Dubai Sheema Classic after her owner, Cristina Petino, decided to avoid a tilt at the Dubai World Cup on the same card at Meydan Racecourse on March 26.
The quadruple Group 1-winning filly follows in the hoofprints of Dar Re Mi, who won the 2,400m turf contest last year for John Gosden.
Sun Classique, the 2008 victor, is the only other filly to win the US$5 million (Dh18.365m race.
The four-year-old daughter of Intikhab last recorded a victory on an all-weather surface when winning her maiden in 2009 and, despite successes in four different countries, Petino has decided to play it safe.
"Snow Fairy worked on Saturday morning with Ryan Moore and putting everything together, we've decided to stick to what we know best," said Ed Dunlop, the filly's trainer.
"Ultimately the decision has been taken by Mrs Patino and the decision is to run her in the Sheema.
"We know she goes well on fast turf, and we were not totally certain about running her on Tapeta for her first race of the season.
"If it was the end of the year, it might be different, but we are all happy with this decision."
Petino bought the filly for $2,516 in 2008, and with five wins during her 12-race career, she has now accumulated over $3.2m in prize money.
Snow Fairy ran seven times last year, with Moore in the saddle for four of her five wins, which included her victory in the Hong Kong Cup in December.
"She stays for a mile and a half and it is a valuable and prestigious race in itself," said Dunlop. "If Ryan Moore stays fit and healthy he will be on board."
