LONDON // The Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari is convinced his side can succeed this season even if Robinho cannot be prised from Real Madrid. The Brazilian, takes charge of his first London derby today when Tottenham - who yesterday confirmed the £12million (Dh80m) signing of Russian striker Roman Pavlyuchenko from Spartak Moscow - are the visitors. Scolari knows time is running out for the forward, 24, to beat tomorrow's transfer deadline. Scolari said: "He's one more important player - quality, velocity, many things - but I have very, very good players here. If he doesn't come, he doesn't come."
Spurs will make the short journey across London in search of their first point of the season. The defender Jonathan Woodgate insists his side can still break into the top four despite selling Robbie Keane and being on the brink of losing Dimitar Berbatov. "Everyone has to work for each other," he said. "We haven't won the last two games and that's not down to Berba, it's down to ourselves." Manchester City visit Sunderland with the winger Shaun Wright-Phillips due to start after returning to the club from Chelsea.
