Bernd Schuster believes former club Real Madrid will need to give more power to their coaches if they want to entice the likes of Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho to the club in the future. With presidential elections taking place at the Spanish giants this summer and current coach Juande Ramos only handed a six-month contract after replacing Schuster in December, speculation is mounting about who will be in charge at the Bernabeu next season, with former president Florentino Perez looking to take charge again.
"If Florentino brings in a sporting director, I have doubts if he (Wenger) would accept this. In all his time at Arsenal he has been more than a coach. The same as (Sir Alex) Ferguson or (Rafa) Benitez. These guys are more than just coaches. "I imagine they would say 'I make the team'. If you put a person above them it could complicate things more than help them." * With agencies
