Romo is a doubt for the Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is a doubt for Sunday's must-win game with the Philadelphia Eagles after he missed practice on Wednesday due to an undisclosed illness. The Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips did not reveal the nature of Romo's illness, but was confident he would be able to train before Sunday. Romo's absence occurred only four days before the Cowboys (9-6) compete in a game they have to triumph in to reach the the play-offs. If Dallas beat the Eagles (8-6-1), they will secure a wild card in the NFC.

Romo, 28, missed three games earlier this season with a broken little finger on his right hand and has been limited in recent weeks by a nagging back injury. The quarterback has passed for 3,265 yards and 26 touchdowns in 12 games this season. However, he has also been prone to turnovers, throwing 13 interceptions and losing five fumbles. Meanwhile, the Cowboys have signed the offensive tackle Marc Colombo to a four-year contract extension through to 2012

Colombo would have been eligible for unrestricted free agency in March. * PA Sport
