Robinho rumoured to be moving from AC Milan to Al Ahli and Arabian Gulf League

Robinho could be on his way to the Arabian Gulf League with media reports in Italy claiming Al Ahli have made an offer for the Milan striker.

Milan have been looking to offload the Brazilian, 30, for the past two seasons and reached an agreement with Brazil club Santos twice this year, but the move fell through because of the player’s wage demands.

That will not be a problem this time around as, according to the Italian newspaper Tuttosport, the AGL champions are willing to pay a reported €4.5 million (Dh22.1m) plus bonuses each year to Robinho in a two-year deal.

According to the newspaper, Robinho’s representative Marisa Ramos was in Dubai recently, scouting for offers, and met the Ahli bosses.

He is now back in Milan to discuss the proposal with the player and the Milan officials.

Robinho, who has played for Real Madrid and Manchester City, signed a new deal with Milan in 2013, on reduced wages, to extend his stay with the Rossoneri until 2016. The Brazilian has made 144 appearances for Milan and scored 32 goals.

Officials at the Al Rashid Stadium have refused to comment on the reports, but the Italian media claim that, despite Ahli not being the only club interested, a deal is close and it could be completed as early as the “coming hours” as Milan are in need of cash to spend in the transfer market.

Cosmin Olaroiu’s men are training in Milan, and should Robinho decide to join the squad for the new season, the Brazilian winger Ciel could be looking for a new club, with Al Wasl a possible destination.
