As a summer of international football is resigned to the history books, focus has swiftly turned back to the club game as players and staff return for pre-season ahead of the start of Europe's biggest leagues.
Among the excitement of pre-season as clubs conduct transfer business and squads depart on tours, the summer is also a time for fans to discover the new kits their teams will be wearing for the upcoming campaign.

Karim Benzema models the new Real Madrid away jersey for the 2016/17 season. Adidas have revealed the new strips of three of their most famous clubs; Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and AC Milan. Real Madrid will play in brand new home and away kits this season. The home jersey sees a return of the classic collar and is completed with the three Adidas stripes in blue. The away kit is predominantly purple, a tribute to the years of the Quinta del Buitre - the name given to the core of the Madrid team that dominated Spanish football in the 1980s. Meanwhile, German champions Bayern Munich have released a new two-toned grey away kit. The three Adidas stripes are orange, while the four stars above the crest symbolise the club's league success; as only teams with twenty or more league titles are allowed to feature four stars. The shirt is completed with the Bayern Munich motto "Mia san mia," meaning "We are who we are". Finally, AC Milan, like Bayern, have released a new away strip for this season. The new jersey is white with tonal pinstripe, and is a classic polo design with a button down collar, featuring the Adidas logo in gold on the right and the current AC Milan crest on the left. The back of the collar features the tricolour flag detail with the word "MILAN" written in Milan Type, the club's official font. Completing the kit are white shorts and white socks with gold accents.
