ASCOT, England // Sheikh Fahad al Thani of Qatar has leased his horses to his brothers for Royal Ascot week so that they can experience the thrill of thoroughbred ownership. The Sheikh had five horses running at the Royal Meeting, two of which ran yesterday. Group Therapy finished 14th in the King's Stand Stakes, while Frederick Engels won the Windsor Castle Stakes. This afternoon Codemaster will run in the Jersey Stakes while Dever Dream will contest the Windsor Forest Stakes. Sweet Chili will feature in Friday's Albany Stakes. Sheikh Fahad's horses usually run under the banner of Pearl Bloodstock. The yellow and blue stars of the Sheikh have become increasingly familiar on British racecourses in the past year, and his company Qipco are the sponsors of the elite British season; the British Champions Series. The five horses carry the dark blue and white colours of Qatar Bloodstock, a company owned by the Sheikh and his brothers. "The Shiekh wanted his brothers to share in the excitement of owning and watching horses run," said David Redvers, the Sheikh's racing manager. "Not only is this the first Royal Ascot that Sheikh Hamad and Sheikh Suhaim have attended, it is also the first time Sheikh Fahad has been present."
