Our weekly guide to the champs and chumps gracing the turf in the latest round of Premier League matches.

GOING UP

Daniel Sturridge, Liverpool

The forward made a great first impression on his new club following his move to Liverpool from Chelsea as he scored just seven minutes in to his debut at Mansfield Town in the FA Cup on Sunday.

Kieron Dyer, QPR The midfielder, who has been blighted by injuries throughout his career, broke a goal drought that went all the way back to May 2007 when he found the net in stoppage time to salvage a replay for Rangers in a 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion.

Darren Bent, Aston Villa It is clear the striker is not a favourite of the Villa manager Paul Lambert, given his lack of starts, when fit, this season. Scoring to help Villa avoiding going out of the FA Cup to Championship side Ipswich Town should help his push for more games.

GOING DOWN

Frank Lampard, Chelsea

Lampard is on the lookout for a new club to join in the summer after his agent confirmed that Chelsea will not be offering the England international midfielder a new deal when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Andre Marriner, referee Marriner would have saved Luis Suarez from a lot of criticism on whether the Uruguayan should have owned up to handling the ball for Liverpool's second goal at Mansfield if he, or one of his colleagues, had actually spotted the incident at the time.

Shola Ameobi, Newcastle Now Demba Ba has been sold Ameobi was given the chance to stake a claim for a regular first-team place in attack at Brighton & Hove Albion. Getting sent off for two bookings is unlikely to have boosted his hopes in that respect.
