They are some of the most famous names in world sport.

And it appears that some of them have had too much time on their hands, which has led to some interesting choices on body art.

Sports stars seem to have a particular penchant for tattoos. Whether from football, boxing, athletics or rugby, having pictures inked on to the body has been the in-thing for many years.

The choice of tattoo can say a lot about a sporting celebrity, and here are just a few that we have captured. It's just possible there will be a few regrets as well.
