NFL: previewing the week

Today's top games

Denver at Baltimore: Look who is leading the league in passing yards - the Broncos' Kyle Orton, at 355 per game. Something has to give; the Ravens are allowing an average of 119 by air. Baltimore became the AFC's team to beat with a bruising win over Pittsburgh last week.

Kansas City at Indianapolis: An early bye week was ill-timed for the Chiefs, who are on a 3-0 roll. They will try to ground it out and keep Peyton Manning on the sideline. Last Sunday was costly for the Colts. They lost a game (on a 59-yard field goal) and their second safety (Melvin Bullitt) for the duration.

Tennessee at Dallas: The Titans need more out of quarterback Vince Young, what with defences geared to stopping Chris Johnson and the run. So far, he has not delivered. The Cowboys spent last week exhaling after they dodged an 0-3 start by beating the Houston Texans. Their defence could give Young fits.

Also today Jacksonville at Buffalo Green Bay at Washington St Louis at Detroit Chicago at Carolina

Tampa Bay at Cincinnati Atlanta at Cleveland NY Giants at Houston New Orleans at Arizona San Diego at Oakland Philadelphia at San Francisco

Tomorrow's game Minnesota at NY Jets

Stat of the week One month into the season, there is only one unbeaten team (Kansas City) and four winless teams (Buffalo, Carolina, Detroit and San Francisco).
