Maradona relishing Zenga reunion

DUBAI // Diego Maradona said he is looking forward to renewing an old rivalry when he takes over the reigns at Al Wasl next season.

The Argentine will lock horns again with Walter Zenga, the former Sampdoria and Italy goalkeeper who is now the coach of fellow Dubai club Al Nasr, when the 2011/12 season kicks off.

Maradona recalled his playing days in Serie A with Napoli, when he frequently got the better of Zenga.

"I scored a lot of goals against Zenga and just as I scored those goals against him, now I am going lead my team to victory against him," the former Argentina coach said at his official unveiling at the Jumeriah Zabeel Saray Hotel in Dubai yesterday.

"Let me tell you a story: Zenga once told me, 'You always score against me'. I told him 'Yes, what else do you expect? I am trying to put the ball inside the goal, whether you are there or not. So what do you want me to do?'."
