East London // A fighting knock of 73 from 60 balls by Brad Hodge went in vain as Zaheer Khan helped Mumbai Indians beat Kolkata Knight Riders by nine runs yesterday.
After Jean Paul Duminy scored his second successive half-century to allow the Mumbai Indians set the Knight Riders a target of 149 runs, Khan took three wickets to derail the run chase.
Duminy hit an unbeaten 52 to guide Mumbai after a slow start. The South African left-hander smashed four sixes in 37 balls and helped lift Mumbai from 71 for four in the 12th over to a defendable total. Kolkata is now last in the standings.
Meanwhile, Kamran Khan has been reported for a suspect action. The action of the Rajasthan Royals bowler came under scrutiny after the umpires reported him during the match against Chennai Super Kings on Wednesday.
