Jess Arabian Ranches were the winners of the third and final round of this season's Dubai Inter Schools Golf League at the floodlit Faldo Course at the Emirates Golf Club (EGC).
The quartet of Kavita Sehmi, Karim Sehmi, Samuel Johnson and Aaron Smith ensured they won the event with 154 strokes, with Dubai College and Jumeirah College tied in second place in the eight-school event, an increase of six schools from the first round held at Jebel Ali Golf Resort and Spa in February.
The players ranged in ability from a +2 handicap through to a 28 handicap for the boys and 36 for the girls.
The format played was a net stroke play event over nine holes, where handicaps are halved and then subtracted from the gross score. All four players' scores count in the team event. The best gross score was won by Daniel Hendry, from Dubai College, with a solid one over par 37.
"The EGF is happy to support this initiative, which has been driven by Diya Chopra, a pupil from Dubai American Acadamy," Chris Vallender, the junior development manager and national team coach, said.
"Diya has been amazing in setting up the first ever inter school golf league in the UAE."
