The AC Milan striker Filippo Inzaghi believes his side's goal power will fire them into this season's title battle. After only finishing fifth last year in Serie A, the Rossoneri kick-off their new campaign against Bologna at the San Siro today, and Inzaghi is confident that Milan can challenge with the likes of himself, Kaka, the new signings Ronaldinho, Marco Borriello, and the returning Andriy Shevchenko from Chelsea in their squad.

He said: "This year we want to do our best for our fans and I am convinced that we can compete against anyone. We have the duty to fight for the Scudetto until the final game of the campaign. "Just like Internazionale, Juventus and Roma, we are in pole position to fight for the title. But we have an attacking line like no other team." Fiorentina take on Juventus, with the new striker Alberto Gilardino hoping to make an immediate impact for the home team.

The striker who signed from AC Milan said: "It will be up to me to be bright and take my chances in front of goal." * PA Sport
