DUBAI // Gary Player, the South African golfing legend who waved an emotional farewell to US Masters galleries last weekend after his 52nd and last appearance at Augusta National, will feature in an invitational tournament in Dubai on Friday. Player, 73, winner of nine major titles during a long career, will accompany each of the fourballs for one hole ? the seventh ? on the Majlis course at Emirates Golf Club as a treat for those participating in the Worldwide Golf 100 Invitational. The popular South African, who will shortly open a new course bearing his name on Abu Dhabi's Saadiyat Island, will also host a brunch during his Dubai stay and conduct a golfing clinic after the tournament. Player said: "I have been a frequent visitor to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar and Oman over the years and I am really looking forward to hosting the tournament. "It will be an opportunity to renew some old friendships and make some new ones and hope it will be a day that all who attend will recall as an occasion to remember."
