Ghantoot claim Emirates Gold Cup over Habtoor Polo

Ghantoot ADCB defeated Habtoor Polo 7-5 to win the Bentley Emirates Gold Cup polo tournament on Friday at the Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club.

Ghantoot’s Pelayo Berazadi, from Spain, was named Most Valuable Player of the 10-team tournament, and Cenicienta, ridden by Facundo Sola, was named best pony.

After three championship game chukkas, Ghantoot, who also won the McLaren Silver Cup, led 6-1 then held off a late Habtoor surge.

The victorious side included Argentine Oscar Colombres, his compatriot Juan Zubiaurre, the UAE’s Ali Al Merri and Berazadi.
