Thibaut Courtois expressed frustration at more dropped points as Chelsea's bid for European football faded further in Wednesday night's goalless draw at Watford.
Chelsea are 13th in the Premier League, 16 points behind fourth-placed Arsenal and 11 adrift of Sunday's opponents Manchester United, who occupy the final European qualifying position in fifth.
It seems increasingly likely that Chelsea, last season's Premier League champions, will have to win the Champions League to qualify to play Europe's elite next season. Paris Saint-Germain are their last-16 opponents.

Goalkeeper Courtois has won back to back titles – La Liga in Spain while on loan at Atletico Madrid prior to last season’s English top-flight title – and took little consolation from Chelsea extending their unbeaten run to 10 games since the departure of Jose Mourinho as manager.
“Being unbeaten is always important but obviously we would have preferred to win than draw,” Courtois said on Chelsea’s website.
“We could have won. It’s a pity we didn’t but now we have an important game against Manchester United.
“We want to win every game and move up the table, it’s another big one.”
Chelsea might have nicked all three points had Heurelho Gomes not been equal to Diego Costa’s late header.
Courtois added: “He’s a very good goalkeeper and he proved that, the last save from Diego was terrific and he saved them the points.
“We’re not happy, we had the biggest chances and Gomes made two big saves.
“We cannot be happy with a point but it was a solid performance.”
Watford were Guus Hiddink’s first opponents in caretaker charge in a 2-2 draw on Boxing Day and the Dutchman is now unbeaten in nine matches, although only two of his seven Premier League games have been won.
Watford now have 33 points with 14 games to play and sit ninth in the table, yet the priority remains 40 points and survival. Next they play at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
Defender Sebastian Prodl said: “It’s a good situation at the moment, but we have to be careful because the Premier League is very hard.
“We feel very confident, but we don’t want to feel comfortable.
“We have to take points from our next games, otherwise we can get problems in the end and that’s not what we are working for in the last months.
“We have to concentrate and be focused in the next games to get the points and to be safe as soon as possible.”

What are NFTs?
Are non-fungible tokens a currency, asset, or a licensing instrument? Arnab Das, global market strategist EMEA at Invesco, says they are mix of all of three.
You can buy, hold and use NFTs just like US dollars and Bitcoins. “They can appreciate in value and even produce cash flows.”
However, while money is fungible, NFTs are not. “One Bitcoin, dollar, euro or dirham is largely indistinguishable from the next. Nothing ties a dollar bill to a particular owner, for example. Nor does it tie you to to any goods, services or assets you bought with that currency. In contrast, NFTs confer specific ownership,” Mr Das says.
This makes NFTs closer to a piece of intellectual property such as a work of art or licence, as you can claim royalties or profit by exchanging it at a higher value later, Mr Das says. “They could provide a sustainable income stream.”
This income will depend on future demand and use, which makes NFTs difficult to value. “However, there is a credible use case for many forms of intellectual property, notably art, songs, videos,” Mr Das says.

Coffee: black death or elixir of life?
It is among the greatest health debates of our time; splashed across newspapers with contradicting headlines - is coffee good for you or not?
Depending on what you read, it is either a cancer-causing, sleep-depriving, stomach ulcer-inducing black death or the secret to long life, cutting the chance of stroke, diabetes and cancer.
The latest research - a study of 8,412 people across the UK who each underwent an MRI heart scan - is intended to put to bed (caffeine allowing) conflicting reports of the pros and cons of consumption.
The study, funded by the British Heart Foundation, contradicted previous findings that it stiffens arteries, putting pressure on the heart and increasing the likelihood of a heart attack or stroke, leading to warnings to cut down.
Numerous studies have recognised the benefits of coffee in cutting oral and esophageal cancer, the risk of a stroke and cirrhosis of the liver.
The benefits are often linked to biologically active compounds including caffeine, flavonoids, lignans, and other polyphenols, which benefit the body. These and othetr coffee compounds regulate genes involved in DNA repair, have anti-inflammatory properties and are associated with lower risk of insulin resistance, which is linked to type-2 diabetes.
But as doctors warn, too much of anything is inadvisable. The British Heart Foundation found the heaviest coffee drinkers in the study were most likely to be men who smoked and drank alcohol regularly.
Excessive amounts of coffee also unsettle the stomach causing or contributing to stomach ulcers. It also stains the teeth over time, hampers absorption of minerals and vitamins like zinc and iron.
It also raises blood pressure, which is largely problematic for people with existing conditions.
So the heaviest drinkers of the black stuff - some in the study had up to 25 cups per day - may want to rein it in.
