Watch: Cristiano Ronaldo goes for a night time run in the Dubai desert

Juventus and Portugal forward is in the UAE for the Globe Soccer Awards, and also spent New Year's Eve in Dubai

If you’re going to be one of the world’s top athletes you’re going to need plenty of dedication - and that’s something Cristiano Ronaldo has never been lacking.

The Juventus striker is widely admired for his physical prowess having moved into his 30s and potentially the twilight years of his career.

But even during the Italian league’s winter break, Ronaldo has been working on his fitness - as well as topping up his tan - during his visit to the UAE.

He posted a video to his Instagram account on Wednesday night of a late night run in the Dubai desert.

It is not clear exactly where he is pounding the road along with a couple of friends, but it looks extremely remote and the group can only see where they are going with the help of car headlights following them.

Ronaldo has been showing off his excursions having posted images of the New Year fireworks in Dubai, and later a helicopter trip over the city.

He also met up with Dubai's Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed.

Ronaldo is here for the Globe Soccer Awards at Madinat Jumeirah on Thursday night, where he has been nominated for the Best Player Award.

The former Real Madrid forward has been in fantastic form for Juventus since his €100 million (Dh421m) summer move, scoring 14 goals in Serie A as his side top the table by nine points from second-placed Napoli.

Ronaldo's fiancee, Georgina Rodriguez, is also in Dubai and has been posting her movements on social media.

Yesterday, she was at Desert Safari Dubai, where she was learning about the local culture.
