Sadio Mane sees 'no problem' with Mohamed Salah slotting in to Liverpool's attack

Senegalese forward has been impressed with the club's record signing during pre-season.

Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has praised the immediate impact of new signing Mohamed Salah following the Egyptian's impressive pre-season form.

Salah, 25, joined Liverpool for a club record fee reported to be €42 million (Dh182.23) and appears to have slotted seamlessly into the team, displaying his lightning pace and goal-scoring touch during the club's pre-season outings.

The arrival of the former Roma player has led to questions regarding where he, and indeed Mane, will line-up in the Liverpool team during the upcoming season.

However, Mane, who formed a dangerous front-three with Brazilians Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho last season, does not envisage any problems, and believes Salah's pace will prove a big attribute for Liverpool.

"Everybody has seen how he's quicker than everyone on the pitch," Mane told the club's website. "He's a nice lad and a great player.

"I am able to play every forward position. I don’t have a problem with that. I have played left wing, right wing and striker – it’s no problem for me."

Liverpool's attacking prowess was key to their return to the Premier League top four last season, with Jurgen Klopp's side outscoring the rest of the league after 34 games. They will again need to be prolific this season, with Klopp insisting the title is where his and his team's ambitions lie.

"Yes, we will be playing for the championship," Klopp said ahead of Liverpool's friendly against German champions Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday. "We don't start a season by not having any ambitions. We have to have our goals and I think we have a very good team now. We did have a bit of bad luck last season. I think we can play a little bit better.

"Let's hope everything will work very well and that there isn't much more to improve. We have to work very hard on it and we're doing that."

Klopp said that forward Divock Origi and defender Joe Gomez would miss the side's two friendlies in Munich with minor injuries, but both should be fit for the opening league fixture against Watford on August 12.
