Pep Guardiola oversaw Manchester City's latest training session wearing protective mask and gloves. While City's players were put through their paces, manager Guardiola observed from a safe distance wearing the recommended protective gear to protect individuals from the threat of coronavirus. The Spaniard, 49, has suffered personal tragedy after his mother, <a href="https://www.thenational.ae/sport/football/mother-of-manchester-city-manager-pep-guardiola-dies-aged-82-after-contracting-coronavirus-1.1002494">Dolors Sala Carrio</a>, died after contracting the coronavirus in April age 82. In March, Guardiola donated €1 million (Dh3.98 million) to buy medical supplies for the fight against the coronavirus pandemic in his native Spain. First-team players including Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva, Phil Foden and Kyle Walker were among the players to take part in training. The Premier League was shut down in March due to the coronavirus pandemic. The league hopes to resume the 2019/20 season with matches from June 8.
