Liverpool stars belted out a birthday tribute to their midfield legend Steven Gerrard as they stepped up training in the build-up to the Premier League restart. Gerrard, who made 709 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 185 goals, turned 40 on Saturday, prompting the special rendition of Happy Birthday before the players got stuck into their work. Manager Jurgen Klopp joined in the singing, along with the entire squad and staff, including Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, captain Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mane. Gerrard, now manager of Scottish Premiership side Rangers, joined the club in 1988 as a youngster, and during his incredible career at Anfield won two FA Cups, three League Cups, the Champions League, Uefa Cup, two Community Shields, two Uefa Super Cups and a galaxy of individual honours. Premier League chiefs have set June 17 as the date for the top flight to restart following the coronavirus delay. Liverpool are two wins away from sealing their first English title for 30 years. The Reds could be crowned champions as early as the first weekend of the restart if Manchester City lose to Arsenal and they beat Everton in a Merseyside derby.
